VG/VG, VG dj Juvenile series David McKay Philadelphia circa 1915 Early reprint Hardbound 8vo, 251 pages, b+w frontis on glossy paper, pictorial cover and spine This is the first title in the West Point series. Garrison was a pseudonym of Upton Sinclair; the story first appeared in Street & Smith's Army And Navy Weekly. There is foxing inside the covers and a faint old dampstain at upper outside tip of first 100 pages. A name and Christmas 1915 are pencilled on the front endpaper. The book is solid and otherwise clean with bright cover and titling. The dustjacket has light soiling/foxing, small paper peel at upper front from an old price sticker and shallow chipping at spine ends not affecting titling. The dj is solid and otherwise clean; it has been placed in a protective cover. This is a rare book in a scarce dustjacket.
