Additional notes provide information on world distribution, biogeographical affinities, distribution and subspecies in the Western Sahara and bordering regions, preferred habitat, observations, conservation, list of pertinent references relating to each species, together with a map showing distribution. Further chapters discuss biogeography and threats to the herpetofauna of the Western Sahara, with a series of keys and list of names in Hassanya.
