Pictorially-illustrated, loose-plastic protected dustjacket minimally edgeworn, and lightly soiled. Lieutenant-Commander Fred Holt was an Australian bank clerk when, at the age of 26, he joined the R.A.N. as an ordinary seaman. He was soon transferred to the Royal Navy for officer training, with several promotions and ship postings following. Surviving a shipwreck, he returned to the R.A.N. and the Pacific theatre.
