First Kelmscott Edition,one of 300 paper copies (there were no vellum copies); issued 27 February 1892.This is the only Kelmscott book with the decorated initials printed in red,done so at the special request of Blunt.Small 4to.(8.2 x 6 inches).Original stiff vellum by J. and J. Leighton of London,spine lettered in gilt,edges uncut.Woodcut border to opening text page,6 and 10 line initials;shoulder titles,initials,stanza and sonnet numbers,and some lines in red.Golden type.The silk ties have detatched and two are loosely inserted in the book.A very good and largely unopened copy.The third book to be published by Morris at his hugely influential press,on the north bank of the River Thames in Hammersmith.:
