The art of creative thinking; how to be innovative and develop great ideas. (reprint, 2007) (John Adair leadership library) by Adair, John
Kogan Page, 2009. Paperback. New Book. Paperback. This volume, a reprint from 2007, details how to develop the skills to be a creative thinker. Adair describes the creative activity of the unconscious mind, its analyzing, synthesizing, and valuing functions, and how to understand the creative process, overcome barriers to new ideas, widen the range of vision, build on and criticize new ideas, tolerate uncertainty and doubt, listen, look, and read with a creative attitude, and make time to think. He does not discuss the philosophy or psychology of creativity in depth, or the organizational dimension of creative thinking. There is no bibliography. Adair is the author of several books on leadership and leadership development, a consultant to organizations, and formerly taught leadership studies at the U. of Surrey in the UK.
