Description

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1937. 136 pgs. Absolutely wonderful collection of the photographer's work, part memoir and part photo-journal. Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton was a well-known set and costume designer as well as a photographer that worked for the top magazines of his day. He was known for his elaborate photographs with great attention to background and props as well as to the sitters. The collection includes photographs and written sketches of contemporary stars, as well as fashion photographs and travel essays and photographs. Yellow cloth cover with orange lettering on spine. Cover is slightly darkened with age, small chips and scratches to cover and corners are bumped. End papers and title page browning but the interior pages are excellent with no browning or fading.. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket.
