Octavo (8" x 5 3/8"); 349pp. Publisher's tangerine-colored cloth, the spine ruled in red and titled in black, the top edge stained red; in the original, completely unrestored pictorial dust jacket, priced at $2.50 [Goldstone & Payne A5b]. Fine (contents very clean and tightly bound; upper corners of covers and text block lightly bumped); the jacket just about Fine, with several miniscule closed tears but no nicks or chips, the spine unfaded, and light quarter-sized stain to the front panel). A truly superb example of Steinbeck's seventh book, and rare thus. Note: With few exceptions (always noted), we only stock books in exceptional condition, with dust jackets carefully preserved in archival, removable polypropylene sleeves.
