A Near Fine copy in the original black leather (a little bubbling to the leather due to a production flaw, a rub to bottom front corner of each board) of this collection of quotations from the speeches, essays, and books of the great Martin Luther King, Jr., selected by Coretta Scott King. A RARE COPY with a presentation plate affixed to the ffep reading: "I Am Very Pleased to Present You with This / Copy of / THE MARTIN / LUTHER KING, JR., / COMPANION / I am certain that you will find my / husband's words an inspiration, now and in / years to come." Under this is printed a signature line for Mrs. King with "Coretta Scott King" printed under the line. Coretta Scott King has signed in the blank provided for her signature. This is number 3 of only 135 copies. In that the King's had four children, it is lucky for the collector that this copy is not held within the family. A rare book and quite an opportunity for the King collector.
