Founded on and continuing the Famous Oz Stories By L. Frank Baum Royal Historian of Oz. Brick red cloth covered boards, black stamped on spine, title is diagonal with scala-wagons hyphenated and the "z" inside the "o" on the spine.  Full color illustrated paste down on front cover. There is some very light bumping at head and foot of spine, very light rubbing to board corners.  Illustrated endpapers. Black & white illustrations throughout. Christmas inscription (1943) on inscription page in pencil, can easily be erased if one wanted to.  Else fine.  Jacket is rubbed/scuffed overall.  2 chips (1/2" each) at head of spine, on chip (1/2") at foot of spine.  Brief rubbing/chipping at board corners.  Otherwise light edge-rubbing.
