Brown paper boards over sewn binding, some paper missing from bottom spine, title visible on spine, boards are VG, some marking, still quite visible. First american edition which was taken from the eighth London edition. Includes an ad by the American Publisher right after the title page, a preface by the author dated 1813, all pages are of 'rag' type linen, each page has tanning from the page just prior..Period name in ink 'Elizabeth Daggett', also another small name in ink on title page, all are from early 19th C presumably. A first edition, early printing and a wonderful find in good condition by the friend of Lord Byron and the pre-eminent Irish poet.. First Edition. Hardcover. Good +/No Jacket.
