Ripley pour la Societe Biblique Americaine, Etablie en 1816 (roman numerals). dated 1838 on title page, D. Fanshaw, Imprimeur.' A very early printing in French of the New Testament by the American Bible Society. Period writing in the inside front board, ffep dating to 1861. Text in french, miniature book w/ brown leather cover, wear to top/bottom spine, corners. Some soiling to odd pages, tanned at edges, assorted spots. Book came from a PA estate of the Fenner family (we found reference to a Reverend Fenner, also a published 19C poet Elizabeth Fenner Baker in these wonderful antiquarian books). . Hardcover. Good +/No Jacket.
