Book desription: Washington D. C.: coordinating Committee for Fundamental American Freedoms, 1963. 22 page pamphlet, circulated in 1964, presenting the dissenting view of six Judiciary Committee members, The text argues that anti-discrimination regulation would undermine the individual freedoms of all citizens, and that desegregation would cause great harm to businesses, farmers, and labor unions. Addendum is laid in depicting wording changes in the amendment that was adopted by the House. ALSO laid in is a form letter which they suggest be typed up or written individually and mailed in droves to the senators from each state, pleading with them to oppose this bill on the grounds statedin the pamphlet. ALSO laid in is a one-page printout of a letter-to-the-editor, published in the CHATTANOOGA FREE PRESS on February 28, 1964 entitled A SICK AMERICAN - ON THE MEND. Scarce pamphlet and one that should be in every institutional and private collection of Civil Rights History, Memorabilia, Black Studies and American History. The views depicted by these 6 men, who at one time were held in such high regard, are representative of the hateful, ignorant and pompous attitudes that were so pervasive in many parts of our country at that time. . Stapled Wrappers. Near Fine.
