Book desription: London: Constable & Co. Ltd. 1920. Small Quarto Size. Near Very Good condition. No dustjacket. Deep blue boards with gilt titles and decoration. Light wear to corners and spine ends and edges. Faint marks to front cover which also has mild insect damage.. Gilt on spine is dulled with age. Scattered foxing throughout book but plates and illustrations are clean. Light foxing to fore edge. Illustrated with 20 tipped-in colour plates and numerous black & white drawings by Arthur Rackham. 160 pages The Rackham illustrated 'Grimm's Fairy Tales' was originally published as one volume in 1909. In 1920 the stories were released in 3 separate volumes. Amongst the tales in this book are Snowdrop, Ashenputtel, The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Four Clever Brothers, The Golden Goose, The King of the Golden Mountain etc. . 1st thus. Hardback.
