Book summary

The members of the Lacuna Cabal, a particularly dedicated Montreal book club, are not satisfied idly discussing their literary selections each month--they prefer to re-enact them, in full detail. As the group tackles their latest project, a version of THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH that they find carved on tablets of stone, the untimely death of their translator eventually spawns a voyage to the deserts of Iraq, where the original story took place. Sean Dixon mixes elements of surrealism, fantasy, science fiction, current events, and literary theory in this wildly ambitious debut novel.
