This section (pp. 112-125) includes: Description of Strong Points; Topographical Difficulties; The Syrian Attack; Concentration of Syrian Forces and Syrian Offensive Plan; The Attack on Kibbutz Dan – June 6, 1967; Friday, June 9, 1967; The Battle of Tel-Paher; Saturday, June 10, 1967; The Outcome of the War with Syria. The author, P.Z. Hartal, was a veteran of the Six Day War and saw action both in Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. He worked as an urban and regional planner. His Hebrew University studies in geography and history are reflected in this highly detailed and compelling work. Contents include: The Land of Volcanoes and the Oaks of the Bashan; Like Snow on a harvest Day – Mount Hermon; The People of the Golan; The History of the Golan; The Liberation of the Golan Heights; Sites in the Golan Heights; Index of Sites. Original manuscripts recording the geography, topography, and history of the Golan Heights in any form are very rare. First hand manuscript accounts of the Six-Day War in this region are rarer still.
