Book summary

In this Christmas fable, a woman's brush with the supernatural helps her recover from emotional devastation. Joy Faith Candellaro is having a rotten Christmas. She divorced her husband Thom a few months ago for cheating on her with her sister Stacy; now she learns that Stacy, pregnant with the child Thom would never give Joy, plans to marry Thom. Emotionally at rock bottom, Joy finds herself at the airport, where she sees a word she desperately needs on the departures board--Hope--and impulsively purchases a ticket on a charter flight to Hope, British Columbia. The flight promptly crashes somewhere in Washington State. Dizzily wandering through a nearby small town, Joy discovers a hotel, the Comfort Fishing Lodge, its only occupants the sullen owner and his troubled young son. Can a touch of holiday magic grant this unlikely trio some badly needed Joy, Faith, Hope, and Comfort?
