The text is illustrated with 12 pages of black-and-white photographs, throughout the text. Brown coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Faint orange coloured tint to the top text block edge. Bumping and rubbing to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners and edges. A few marks and browning to the internal text. Colour photographic front cover, showing a chimpanze, with white and peach coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear dustwrapper panel. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper are corners and to the top edge of the front dustwrapper panel. The laminate has started to lift to the lower edge of the backstrip which has also been frankly faded. A few marks to the laminate of the dustwrapper. With charm and abundant wit, Animal Days records a remorselessly eventful period in Desmond Morris's life and concludes with his decision to turn his attention -- at least for the immediate future -- to the fascinating business of manwatching.
