Publisher's blue cloth with darker blue panel on the front bearing the title in gilt, same pattern repeated on spine, gilt figure of a trout rising on front, pictorial endpapers. In the original glassine. In the original publisher's box with large paper label on front with lettering and a Schaldach illustration in black. Small printed paper label at side of box restating the copy number. Repair to joints of box but still very attractive. A beautiful copy.Beginning in 1937, Schaldach wrote and illustrated a series of books on hunting and fishing. The first was a compilation of his prints, drawings, and watercolors, entitled Fish by Schaldach. It was followed by Coverts & Casts (1943), Currents & Eddies (1944), Upland Gunning (1946), and The Wind on Your Cheek (1972.) He also illustrated the books of several other outdoors writers.
