Bound in green cloth, elaborately decorated in gilt; clean, bright, free of wear, except a little darkening and rubbing at spine ends. Some offsetting to endpapers, faint foxing to prelims (but not to the frontis. or title page, or the other 11 plates), faint foxing to three or four interior pages, and foxing/dusting to edges; contents o/w clean. Uncommon dust jacket, gilt on green paper, is markedly oxidized on spine and upper edges, still quite legible on front panel; some chipping, few short closed edge tears; now protected in new archival Brodart cover. An extremely attractive copy of a very early printing.. 3rd Printing. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Fair. Illus. by F. D. Bedford. 5.25 x 7.75 in. (13cm x 19.5cm).
