Book desription: London: John Stockdale, Piccadilly, 1800. First Thomas Moore edition. Moore was an Irish poet, entertainer and translator. Moore is considered Ireland's national poet. He studied law at Middle Temple in London which is referred to on the title page. Full leather binding, probably speckled calf. Disbound: front cover detached and fep. Ex-library with bookplate on inside cover. Detached blank page with some tears and soil. Booksellers pencilled notation on blank page follows. Name on title page. Stain at the top of frontispiece and title pages. Contains the three famed copper plate engravings by T. Nugent. Gilt decorations on spine are quite rubbed. 255 toned pages including index. We noted fingermarks to the margins of several pages. We did not observe any foxing. Cover has worn and bumped corners and some rubbing and scratching. In English and some Greek.
