Vol. 2 Dust Jacket: Same as Vol. 1 including "Kansas City Edition" in red near spine top -- and except -- two black stars on rules, photo of author on back by Eliot Elifoson; interestingly, the dates "1946 - 1952" are with the dust jacket sub-title but not on the book title page. Both books and both dust jackets are in similar condition. Bindings are tight and square, spine tops are lightly pulled & bottoms lightly bumped, spines have very slight fall-in (spine has slightly collapsed inward from the top -- typical of loosely shelved or large heavy volumes), corners are sharp, top edge dye on volume one is lightly spotted, edges are moderately faded, text pages are creamy white, clean, both volumes have the previous owner's name obtrusively inked on the recto title page immediatly below the sub-title. Volume two may be a shade crisper of the two. Dust jackets are wholly intact with original publisher's price present, show a hint of over-all age toning with noticeably faded spine panels, spine ends show slight wear with a bit of light chipping at top (Vol. 1 also has a triangular 1/2" chip), back panels each have two small closed tears; reverse sides are clean except the back panel of Vol. 1 has a small black ink stain that has no show-through, protected in new Gaylord brand archival clear plastic covers (removable). .
