Friends visiting Marion Kelsey in 1991 casually asked about the cause of her husband's paraplegia. She climbed to the attic and pulled out her diary and scrapbook from World War II. They were enchanted with the story and saw to it that this book was published. It begins in 1940, with Marion following husband Charlie to England after he joined the Canadian Army and was sent overseas; there she joined Britain's Women's Land Army and spent the next four and a half years pitching and threshing hay, shovelling manure, feeding and milking cows, and running farm machinery. She and Charlie travelled each time he was on quarterly leave, until August 1944, when Charlie was severely wounded. . First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 15 cm x 23 cm / 6" x 9".
