Book description: New York: Harper & Row, 1968. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. A Fine copy (minor aging to the topstain, tiny spot to ffep) in a Fine dust jacket (with some expected age toning to the white letters, the edges of the white rear panel, and to the flap edges). Exley's debut novel and a somewhat autobiographical confession, the book has become an modern classic with a strong cult following. The book was the basis for the 1972 Canadian comedy film of the same name directed by Eric Till and starring Jerry Orbach as Exley (with Patricia Collins as Patience, Burgess Meredith as Mr. Blue, Rosemary Murphy as Moms, Conrad Bain as Poppy, and Julia Robinson as Bunny Sue) and was an entry in the 1972 Cannes Film Festival. A very nice copy of Frederick Exley's debut novel.
