Frontipiece b&w plate titled "The Father and Mother, as well as the two brothers and the Sister, of Mary of Agreda entered religion about the year 1617". Preamble includes, " A Rebuke Long Overdue" and " Approbations" dating from 1757 to 1912. Condition: light to moderate soiling overall, corners bumped, spine corners, only, exhibit some fraying. Binding lightly shaken yet all pages remain firmly bound in. Text is complete and clean, some penciled page notations on the back endpapers, particularly the back paste-on page. Gilt on the spine has faded some but is still easily readable. Overall this tome is useable, readable and desirable. An important unabridged classic of Christian / Catholic mystical literature.
