Prague: Mlada Fronta, 1973 Rare edition of the book by the Czech explorer. In the Czech language. This is the author's account of his second journey to Africa, commenced in 1883. Holub's original two volume journal, first published in 1890, is here reduced to one large volume. Illustrated with 81 drawings, 46 tables and 16 woodcuts. Oversized book, light grey cloth with an elaborate ornamental pattern, black lettering on front cover and spine. The corners are mildly bumped. D/J has some edgewear and a few small chips, but still good. Internally very good, with no markings or inscriptions. Communication possible in Czech - Hovorime cesky. 1.2kg.
