London: S. and J. Fuller, 1811. Published in the year following the first edition. pp. [2], 15, [1], [2].Fifteen numbered pages of rhyming text, verso of final page blank, both front and rear original blanks present. Illustrated by an accompanying hand-painted printed card doll figures; there are seven outfits; and two (of four? removable) hats, the head is missing and has been replaced with a later 20th C. substitute. The original card "slipcase" is present and though a little worn (split?) at the edges and slightly marked, in remarkably good condition. The card wrappers of the book are again in remarkably good condition, internally the book is very good, a little reading wear and minimal staining to the edges of a few pages, the original ribbon is not present. Notwithstanding the missing head, a very good copy. (Bibliographical note: we also have an 1810 (first edition) of this work and it has been useful to compare directly the two editions. It is interesting to note that whilst the figures are ostensibly the same the printing of them is quite different - the later edition is bolder with additional lines engraved; additionally the way the outline of the figures have been cut out differs too. One might suspect that the number of additional items such as hats etc. differed too between editions - and what the publisher had available at any one time.). Seventh Edition. Card Covers. Very Good. 16mo.
