London: Jonathan Cape, 1966. [Short stories] FIRST EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION, BINDING A. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.95. Publisher's dark grey cloth-effect paper over boards, blocked in silver, patterned grey endpapers, pictorial dust-wrapper illustrated by Richard Chopping. Priced at £4.95 via publisher's label to flap. A clean, fine copy in a custom-made leather-spined clamshell box. A particularly scarce late issue with the repriced jacket, retailing at £4.95 (sold circa 1980). The vast majority of Octopussys were sold in the late 60s to early 70s priced at 10/6, 16 shillings or 80 pence. Interest in the title had all but disappeared by 1980 meaning copies sold at the higher decimal price are rare. See Gilbert: Ian Fleming The Bibliography, A14a (1.5).
