Book desription: Chicago: P F Volland, 1928 While exploring their grandmother's attic, Janey happily shows her brother a lovely doll tucked in among the old things, which had a pocketed apron containing a cardboard kitten and the initials "L.L." In this delightful, scarce book, we follow the adventures of the children at Merrywell Cottage and their dolls. Wonderfully illustrated in color, b&w by Rae who did many memorable books for Volland. The covers have pictorial paper-covering with a patterned-cloth spine, the edges and spine ends are rather rubbed, the page-signatures are a bit loosened and page 5 has a chip at the hinge and the last page was mended at the hinge with acid-free document tape. The pages have some foxing here and there. Overall good copy of this scarce book. OUT OF PRINT.. First Printing. Cloth-backed Pictorial Boards. Good/No Dj. Illus. by Author. 8vo.
