Description
Toronto: News Stand Library # 122 1st Edition 1950. ----------paperback, scarce imprint from a Canadian publisher. Copyright page has been removed (title page remains), otherwise the book is intact, sound and solid. Slight spine tilt, small tears to spine bottom, corner creases, edgewear, namestamp "ALEX" on front cover bottom left corner and on 1st 2 pages, scuff inside front cover likely where a nameplate was removed, a good copy. Striking cover art, tale of the "offspring of maid and monster". Perhaps the book should more properly be labelled an anthology, as the 1st 130 pages are the title story, and the final 30 pages are the short story "Awaken the Dead!" by one Halls Wells (that ends wells?) (possibly a pseudonym of the prolific Kelley).. First Edition. Mass Market Paperback.
Mass market paperback : Also known as the pocket paperback. A small format paperback usually measuring about 4" by 6".
spine : The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf. Also known as the back.
