Book description: New-Haven, , 1804. 1st edition. Later wrappers. Light browning, inner margin with hole not affecting text. A vg. copy with wide margins. . 8vo. . Five Jeffersonian Connecticut justices of the peace issued an address stating Connecticut lacked a valid Constitution because the Legislature had adopted it but the people of Connecticut had not voted on it. The Federalist legislsature in 1804 sought to have the justices' commissions revoked since they attacked the constitution they were chosen to defend. Daggert, in this pamphlet argued for presecuting the justices & attempts to prove that the Connecticut form of government was voluntarily agreed to by the people of Connecticut during their history as proven by events in the history of Connecticut, therefore the Connecticut Constitution was valid & the justices' commisssions ought to be revoked for their statements. Daggert was a prolific writer of literary merit. See DAB. An uncommon item
