Journalism Versus Artby Eastman, Max
DescriptionNew York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1916 Inscribed by author, Max Eastman- "To Agnes Cromwell in recognition of her whole struggle with my reputation from Max Eastman". Obviously inscribed during the early years of his founding and editing the periodical, "The Masses", which in 1917 lost its mailing privileges and had several of its editors tried more than once for violating the Espionage Act. "The Masses" publication was suppressed during the trials (and of course WW I), but failing to get a conviction by the time the war ended, the government dropped its case. Lower corners are bumped with miniscule wear. Spine faded. Pages are clean and soundly bound.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Illustrated. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. |
