Book Description

Tales of Love and Other Stories 15 may - 6 June 1992, exhibition catalogue, mint condition, soft cover approx 20 illustrations Jack Vettriano Jack Vettriano O.B.E.- God’s Children exhibition catalogueA Much needed guide for Vettriano collectors. “ For all our trespasses our greed our quest for power our enjoyment of pain and our need for pleasure our desires and hungers unfaithfulness dishonesty insincerityAre we not all God’s children?”Jack Vettriano These are emotive words on the first page of this publication. This is an extremely scarce catalogue for an EARLY Jack Vettriano exhibition by the Edinburgh Gallery. It ran from 2nd October 1992 to 11th October 1992. The exhibition has the reflective title of 'God’s Children'. It includes TWENTY COLOUR illustrations and ONE picture of young Vettriano. It includes classical images that are only recently being rediscovered in Auction houses in Scotland such as ‘The Singing Butler’, ‘Mad Dogs…’, ‘The Unorthodox Approach’ , and ‘Narcissistic Bathers … the list goes on.It lists the 37 pieces that were exhibited and their dimensions and if they were canvas or board. This is a MINT catalogue and has been treasured as an early piece of Vettrianoemia. The text includes a delightful biographical summary of Vettriano written by the celebrated biographer W. Gordon Smith,This is a scarce record of early vettriano work and has never come up on before, I would guess is is one of his earlier and less known exhibitions. This is a must for a serious vettriano collector as it is in MINT condition.
