Glendale, California: RAS Press, 2012, 1st Printing, 2012. -----------softcover, a Fine unread copy, about 11 x 8 inches, the last book to be issued during Bradbury's lifetime, produced just before he died, this is one of a few copies that was signed by the artist, ---"---"In the late summer of 188-, a train leaves Cairo heading across the desert... carrying an odd assortment of Egyptians, Europeans and English men and women. A cannon fires at the train from the dunes and the train's fuel tender is knocked apart. Lacking fuel, the train stops dead near a small Egyptian ruin from another age. Foraging for fuel the passengers are driven further into the desert by a brief sand storm where they stumble upon the remains of an ancient Egyptian tombyard." Thus begins a ghost story by Ray Bradbury. Inspired by a telephone call from the noted animator Chuck Jones, Ray Bradbury dashed to his typewriter composing a poem entitled, "The Nefertiti-Tut Express." However, the bizarre subject matter continued to haunt the author and he expanded it to over 2,000 words of a completed screenplay outline. Lost in his files for fourteen years, Bradbury rediscovered the screenplay in 1990. Unable to revive it, it was once again forgotten. Now, more than thirty-five years after its conception, Ray Bradbury's original screenplay outline, "the Nefertiti-Tut Express," is at last illustrated with 15 full page plates by Gary Gianni"---, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo. Signed by Illustrator. First Edition. Soft Cover. Fine. Illus. by Gary Gianni.

Description:
Glendale: RAS Press, 2012. First Edition, First Printing. Signed by illustrator Gary Gianni. The last Ray Bradbury book published in Bradbury’s lifetime. A haunting ghost horror tale taking place in 1880s Egypt with a passenger train that has left Cairo running out of fuel to burn. The inhabitants of the train forage around the nearby area and discover an ancient tomb yard and they steal dried mummies to burn in the engine. A original outline story for a screenplay that Bradbury was never able to get produced, the manuscript was lost for many years until being recently rediscovered and published here, illustrated with 15 remarkable color illustrations by Gary Gianni. The book was published April 25, 2012, and Ray Bradbury viewed the finished book on May 11th, and was very moved by the result, and at which time he wrote "The Nefertiti-Tut Express is a beautiful and fantastic book!" Ray passed on June 5, 2012 less then a month later. 12 by 9 inches. Paperbound. As new.
