The text is illustrated with another 7 coloured illustrations and 31 black-and-white illustrations of the artists work. White coloured boards with dark green insert on front panel with dark green writing on the front panel and spine. Minor bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and to the top book corners. Shelfwear to the lower book edges with discoloration. A few marks to the book boards. Offset tanning to the endpapers and internal pages have also is turned slightly brown as well. A previous owner has inserted a newspaper clipping [ about butter rationing ] which has also caused the free front endpaper another ' layer ' of browning. Illustrated dustwrapper, being a detailed reproduction of " The Orphan in the Graveyard " against a green and white background with white writing on the front panel and spine. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. Rubbing and chipping has also occurred to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges. There is a 2.5 " tear to the lower rear dustwrapper edge. Browning to the white of the dustwrapper. An artistic biography of the French artist Eugene Delacroix, who, though, owed a lot of his artistic expression on two German Romanticism, 18th century landscape painting and French classicism, had a highly individualistic style of art.
