Sydney: Angus & Robinson Ltd, 1965. 159pp., preface by Sir Mark Oliphant. Text is illustrated by colour photographs taken by Maurice Burney (and others), maps and figures. Illustrated endpapers, showing a map of the world with Australia highlighted. Red ochre coloured boards with embossed map of Australia on front panel and gilt writing on the spine. There is a small piece of the heel of the spine missing. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a cave on Kangaroo Island and on the back panel a mining operation, with yellow writing on the front panel and on spine. Chipping has occurred on the corners and along the edges of the dustwrapper. There is a crease along the top of the back fold over, and the front fold over has been price clipped. This book was a look at Australia (in 1960's), its past, its present and its future.. First Edition. Red Cloth with Gilt. Good/Average. 4to - up to 12" tall - Quarto. Australiana.
