Book Description
Harrap. No date given, but early 20th century. Beige decorated cloth boards, taupe DUST JACKET with Celtic-style decorations. Printed at the Camperfield Press, St. Albans, England. Many beautifully decorated pages, in gilt & soft colors, & color plates by Evelyn Paul, who is also the translator into English. The preliminary pages, including title page, are illustrated in the ornate Celtic style, as are the decorations in sepia on virtually every page of text. Top edge gilt, other edges deckled. Book is sound & clean; spine top & base, & corners, a bit bumped, but not worn; page 72 has crack to cloth; some pages have light finger dents, or a short tear to fore-edge, or an occasional light spot to margin. But book is basically clean in & out. Very neat ink inscription in Old English script. Dj is rubbed at top of back; top 1 1/2 in. of dj spine is missing, otherwise dj sound & clean; in new archival protective cover. (For more images of this book, please contact bookseller). Hard Cover.
