A nice early view of Niagara Falls based both on Father Hennepin’s original rendition which was published in 1698 and also on Popple’s version of 1744. This view has a few amendments such as a small rope ladder extending from the top of the centre rock as well as incorporating more figures. The ladder according to legend was fashioned by two Indians who had found themselves stranded on Goat Island and had attempted to descend the rock face and swim to shore.
