Privately Printed, 1959. Fine/Very Good. Bob Schoenke. Quarto. 524p. Bibliography. Half leather over cloth covered boards. Bill Sperling was born in 1891 in Bell County and grew up on a rnach near Cotualla. He became a Texas Ranger and eventually becoming the Adjutant General of Texas. His extraordinary horsemanship was recognized by all and his judgment of livestock made him a resource for both the small and great ranches of Texas. Some rubbing to edges of dust jacket else a fine copy throughout.

Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 27p., At the dedication of the Pioneer Hall of the Society of Calfiornia Pioneers, O P Sutton, the President of the Society, gave the inaugural address. He was one of the Forty-Niners who arrived in San Francisco in 1849. He began work in the mines and after failure returned to the city where he established a mercantile business, He participated in the organization of the Democratic Party in California and in 1863 he was elected to the California Legislature. The Oration by Eugene Lies was one of the early settlers of Santa Barbara and he also served in the California Legislature. The book is in good condition with some light dampstaining on pages 25-27. Protected in a heavy duty mylar envelope.
