The spine is in good condition: black cloth/did not come with dust jacket; 16 pages; approx. 5 1/4" X 7 1/4". In excellent condition, no writing, marks or tears. Spine is intact with minor lift, otherwise spine is sturdy. Pages are clean and unmarked. Back cover has very slight creases, barely noticeable. Very rare for this pamphlet as it was given out to school age children. Most of the pamphlets in this series is marked, creased, soiled, etc. due to school use. This is indeed a rare piece! Nila Banton Smith is known for her books in educational reading instruction. In recognition of her work, a yearly Nila Banton Smith Award of $1,000 is given to honor a middle or secondary school classroom teacher or reading teacher who has shown leadership in translating theory and current research into practice for developing content area literacy.
