Firenze, Italy: Stamperia Albizziniana, 1800 Published 1800-1801. A complete set of 2 volumes bound together: Vol. 1 (vi, 187 pp.; texts of 42 Latin inscriptions, footnotes, index); Vol. 2 (308 pp.; texts of 26 Latin inscriptions, footnotes, several plates showing medals [obverse and reverse], index). The inscriptions discussed generally date to the 14th-18th centuries AD, and each inscription is accompanied by a descriptive essay in Italian. Bound in later quarter leather and red cloth; 4 raised bands, gilt stamped. Appears to have been bound originally in maroon leather (2 panels of the original binding have been preserved on spine). CONDITION: An ex-library book in excellent condition with usual library marks (including call number sticker on spine, superficial tearing to front pasted endpaper where bookplate appears to have been removed, minor pencilled library marks on title-page [one line blacked out], pocket on rear pasted endpaper; stamped "withdrawn"). Light overall rubbing to covers. OVERSIZED.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 25 x 18 cm.
