Curt Valentin, NY, 1947. First edition, octavo, 160 pp., 46 full-page reproductions of Seurat's drawings, some of which relate to familiar paintings and some of which are independent works. The author speaks of the "outward perfection in the small black and white pictures." Book is VG+ with nice boards and spine but with darkened edges and pages. Dust jacket is VG with slight chipping along top edge and a few small traces of paint on back cover, spine darkened. The book bears the ownership signature of Paula Donohue, whose drawings adorn some of the best-known album covers for Blue Note, the legendary record company. A nice signature, and an interesting connection.
