The Wishing Horse of Ozby Thompson, Ruth Plumly
Book Description
Reilly & Lee, Chicago, 1935. First edition, first state with dust jacket. The 29th Oz book and the last to be published with color plates. Book is near fine in very dark green textured cloth; dust jacket very good. An impressive-looking copy with some relatively minor flaws to the jacket: price clipped; tiny loss at corners and spine ends; general darkening to white on spine and along borders (most apparent along folds); edges worn with a few small closed tears. Titles on rear flap list to this title. Jacket has been expertly laid down under plastic cover and looks very good with bright cover illustrations. Book is tight; one corner lightly bumped, corners square otherwise; lettering on spine bold and bright black; cover paste-on gorgeous and without flaw. Neat gift inscription in adult hand on ownership page. All twelve plates in fine condition. Pages very clean and bright.
