"Batterie Thiele" including Feld Artillerie-Regiment No. 39, Field artillerie-Regiment No. 103, Infanterie Geschutz-Batterie No. 3. Each section marked by different color tissue noting date, title and chapter. The last portion of the book lists the " Das Batterielied" 24 songs and verses. While Hans Rosenthal's Kurmarkisches Feldartillerie-Regiment nr. 39 gives a detail of the Regimental history with sketches, it does not provide what it was like for the average soldier. Octavo. 187pp. One of the most brilliant dust jacket with front panel showing the horrors of war where the real enemy is the ugly monster symbolized by the green ravenous beast faced by the soldier in stark horror. Liam O'Flaherty served in World War I as a private in the Irish Guards, so this was his coming to grips with the "war to end all wars". Bound in brown cloth, spine lettering green, some off setting to endpapers, in pictorial dust jacket with chipping to corners and along upper edge of jacket, a crease to rear panel and a dark spot to spine. A very good copy.

Zurich: Verlag Des Kriegs-Atlas, 1914. Cloth. Very Good/No Dust Jacket as Issued. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. 10 folding maps published at outbreak of World War I in Switzerland. All in very good condition with half having closed tears but no chips. The only recorded copy in OCLC is at the Swiss National Library.

Beautifully bound in three-quarter rich black crushed morocco over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands with compartments decorated in gilt with small central embellishment in brown, top edge gilt, silk ribbon marker, original wrappers bound in.. Claude Farrère, pseudonym of Frédéric-Charles Bargone (27 April 1876, in Lyon - 21 June 1957, in Paris), was a French author. Les petites alliées is set in the French coastal city and military harbor of Toulon; the plot concerns young naval officers living and working there and entertaining themselves with a series of adventures. The book was made into a film in 1936.
