Book desription: A Romance of the Age, NY, 1907, D. Appleton & Co., first edition, published October, 1907, halftone illustrations by G. C. Wilmshurst, and decorations by Franklin Booth, light lavender cloth hardcover with stamped bright gilt and white decorations and lettering on front cover and spine, bookmark, top edges bright gilt, front and bottom deckle edges, pages uncut, never read, there is one barely perceptible flaw on cover--a very slight swelling (one can feel it with the fingers but can hardly see it if at all) along the bottom edge of front and rear covers from a one-time (apparently of short duration) exposure to water on the bottom edge, there is also a corresponding slight light brown damp stain on pages 37 to 66 at spine area extending about a half inch out and quarter inch up, on superficial inspection the book appears pristine, the original tissue dust jacket is present, showing evidence of damp stain at bottom, dust jacket shows a few edge chips and tears but is generally good and intact, original plain white board slipcase shows minor wear and some soil and quite evident damp stain at bottom edge all around, if the dust jacket and slipcase were not present the dampstain on the book cover's bottom edges might easily be overlooked, (the small damp stain on the page edges near the spine area being the main flaw), the gilt and white decoration is bright as new and the corners are sharp, a very pretty book, literature, poetry, English..
