Book Description
Boston, MA: D.C. Heath & Co, 1946. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. This is a terrific book for someone who wants to brush up on their German, or learn enough phrases that they can get by in Germany. The book starts out with simple conversation, English on the right, German on the left. The phrases and conversation gradually become more complex. There are ten general conversations, then 51 specific conversations ranging from getting tickets to finding a bus, going to a hotel and making conversation. There is a pronunciation guide, and an index, and a grammatical index. There's an awful lot packed into this small, pocket-sized book! 229 pages, binding is cloth with a village scene on the front. The spine ends a folded in a bit, and there is a small dark mark about 1 1/2" inches from the spine bottom. There is also a light brown area where it looks like a small glass was set down upon the cover. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
