Wheat; an excerpt from the San Francisco Bulletin, November 5 1858, titled Notes of Travel by the Overland Mail, San Francisco to Fort Yuma; an outline of the Butterfield Route; an essay by Frank Rolfe titled The location of the Butterfield Stage Station in the Temescal Valley, Riverside County; and a checklist of published material on the Butterfield Overland Mail. Includes a folding facsimile of "Dixson & Kasson's map of the Overland and Ocean-Mail Routes between the Pacific and Atlantic States and Ports," published by Hutchings & Rosenfield, San Francisco, 1859. This edition printed by Ward Ritchie of Los Angeles and limited to 125 copies.
