Roads ---a Copy Signed By Seabury Quinn and Virgil Finlay ( Signed Twice By Finlay )by Quinn, Seabury (signed), Illustrated By Virgil Finlay (signed By Finlay, twice)First Edition
Book DescriptionSauk City, WI.: Arkham House, 1948, 1st Arkham House Edition, 1st Printing. ----------hardcover, The condition of the book is a solid Very Good. This copy was exposed to smoke from a fire and has resulted in the page edges being darkened, with the occassional smokiness dipping into the edges of the pages. I should mention tho' that there is no smoke smell and the smoke staining is really quite minimal. The dustjacket is one of the nicest that I have seen. This dustjacket is prone to rubbing to the black and gold stock. This copy has very minimal rubbing, with the rear white panel being nice and bright. Clearly a mylar protector was on the book at the time of the exposure to the smoke, this is a dandy copy of this classic Santa Claus story, this is one of the truly rare copies as it is signed by Seabury Quinn on the half-title page without inscription, as well this copy is signed and inscribed by Virgil Finlay on the half title page -----and, Finlay has also signed and inscribed the Finaly designed dustjacket, he signed the dustjacket on the front flap at the top near the price (Finlay's inscription is to a past Worldcon chair, and well known bookseller), a truly one of a kind item, anything signed by Quinn is rare, signed copies of the Arkham House edition of Roads is VERY RARE and to be combined with the signature of one of the truly great pulp artists ---- well, this is THEE copy , any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo. Signed. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good+. Illus. by Virgil Finlay. Bookseller Terms of Sale
