The book is divided into six parts with a full page illustration at the start of each section. Estelle and the shepherd, Nmorin, are in love but another shepherd, Mril, has saved the life of Estelle's father. Estelle feels obliged to marry Mril. The 3 x 5 inch tall, 295 page, leatherbound volume is full leather. All page edges are gilt. Endpapers are marble. The last 22 pages of the book are Notes followed by a listing of Florian's works. The front cover is separating. The back hinge is fragile. Cover corners are bumped. Parts of the leather are missing on the spine. A bookplate inside the front cover shows a turtle on a rock. A banner over the turtle reads: Festina Lente. The name at the bottom of the bookplate is: Walton Martin. Written in pencil along the margin of the first text page is: Beatrice Sarahan Binger '19.
