Book desription: New York: Franklin Watts, 1988. Good in Good jacket Good in Good jacket Very Good in Very Good jacket 24 cm. Condition very good in blue cloth boards, DJ very good in protective mylar cover glued to the boards, ex-library with few indications that it is ex-lib, stamp on top edge, library pocket and library stamp on dedication page, clean tight 1st edition. From School Library Journal: Grade 5-9--A clear but brief historical, geographical, political, social, industrial, and ecological overview of territories in the Pacific and Caribbean, sparsely supported by black-and-white photographs and maps. This book, Aylesworth's Territories and Possessions (Chelsea House, 1988), or Carpenters' Ocean Lands (Encyclopedia Brittanica, 1987) are sufficient to fulfill an assignment requiring a source other than an encyclopedia. However, for an understanding and a visual conception of the land, the people, and the culture of some of the larger and more populated U.S. territories, books which focus on a single territory, well-supported with photographs, such as William Lutz' Guam (Chelsea House, 1987) or Antonio J. Colorado's First Book of Puerto Rico (Watts, 1978; o.p. ) will be more engaging and far more worthwhile. -Lydia Champlin, Beachwood City Schools, Ohio Copyright 1989 Reed Business Information, Inc.. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good.
