Book Description
Leipzig, Parthenon-Verlag AG, paperback (stiff card), no date, no pagination, circa 120p, illsts. This book has an English descriptive text but chiefly comprises illustrations - over 100 of them, all bw - sketches and photos taken from old books, magazines, etc. The quality of reproduction is not always good but many of the illustrations are of great historic interest, covering the history of literature featuring flagellation, chiefly of the female. The book is a bit grubby, and the back cover is missing. There are also some edge stains, but it is solid apart from the missing cover and intact. And exceedingly scarce!
